CUTTING EDGE

Cutting Edge is the core foundation of the company’s movement language and physical exploration developed by Sanjukta Sinha. Inspired by the past 2 decades of her experience in classical form from both her guru’s, cutting edge brings awareness to the spine and groundedness of the body.

The movements are circular, fluid and with high velocity using the coordination of Rhythm of music and breath. The cutting edge Practice pushes the limits of the mind and the stamina of the body. Cutting edge practice is an expansion from the traditional Kathak practice, where sanjukta focuses on grasping the detail, the pathways of the choreography and the quality of the movement vocabulary within the set sequence and then breaking the sequence.

Sanjukta says

Cutting edge is an ongoing discovery for me ,a continuous process. It will be evolving with time and phase of my life. It will change and keep helping me to discover the new possibilities of movements.

PRINCIPLES OF CUTTING EDGE

Cutting edge movement vocabulary is more of a path than a goal. Its about self exploration, self expression and constant learning. The training emphasis on stability, strong core and improving movement quality. Sanjukta believes “We dont live in our bodies, we are the bodies. There is no separation between body and mind. Cutting egde is a dialogue through movements for understanding of oneself”
